Ecuador

Designed for students, this eco-tour is based in the Amazon jungle of Ecuador and provides young people with direct exposure to the issues that face our generation as we progress towards sustainable utilization of our planets resources.

On this tour, Participants will learn about the challenges facing global ecology by personal contact with the biosphere and the people of the jungle environment. They will have the chance to engage with the local jungle communities and participate in their cultural activities, as well as experience the wide variety of plant and animal life abundant in the mystical Amazon jungle.

Participants are based in the comfortable and well-equipped Jungle Spot Lodge, where daily programs are conducted by experienced licensed guides. Daily activities programs may be customized to meet the particular preferences or objectives of each group.

Ecuador Jungle Eco-Adventure

Day 1:

Travel from North America to Equador

Day 2:

Afternoon arrival to Puerto Misahualli taking a motorised canoe to Puca Urco. Enjoy some refreshments & meet the guides and staff. Check in to your rooms. Dinner & Tour orientation.

Day 3

SOIL:
Breakfast, Introduction to Ecuadorian environmental difficulties and opportunities educational talk. Full day jungle hike (box lunch) and Chocolate making process from tree to consumption. Dinner & Relaxed evening around the fire.

Day 4

WATER:
Breakfast, Full day rafting adventure (box lunch). Introduction to water habitat, preservation, effects on local cultural and sustainability educational talk. Dinner, Legislative impact and educational talk

Day 5

AGRICULTURE:
Local plantation hike to see banana, cacao (chocolate), lemon, orange and many other jungle grown foods and fruits. Learn the harvesting tectonics and how to cook the foods. River boat ride to local village for lunch. A game of football with the local community youth, tubing the Napo river, weather permitting. Evening camp fire.

Day 6

CULTURE/COMMUNITY:
Breakfast, Visit local school to present talks on environmental sustainability. Visit local community for traditional lunch, dancing and local handcrafts, return to the lodge by motorized canoe. Early dinner, Night hike

Day 7

FUTURE:
Breakfast, Trip to local museum Time to reflect on future solutions and how to be personally involved in creating a more sustainable environment and enhancing environmental consciousness Lunch, Visit to see the monkeys and buy souvenirs in Misahaulli. Travel by private bus to Quito. Dinner, Check into hotel

Day 8

Breakfast, City tour (depending on flight departure time) Travel to airport by private bus for flight back to North America

From: $2,199.00 per person + Airfare Based on Double Occupancy

Price Includes: Lodging, food, vegetarian food on request, purified water, a certified guide, transport from Misahualli and all excursions and trips outlined in the programme.

Not Included: Anything not specified above, alcoholic beverages, fizzy drinks, personal expenses and tips.
